What is Toastmasters?
Toastmasters is an organization dedicated to helping its members develop their public speaking and leadership abilities in a friendly, supportive and entertaining forum. Toastmasters is a great opportunity for speakers of all levels to become more effective at communication. Whether you are looking for an introduction to public speaking, wishing to refresh your skills, or are an experienced speaker wanting to stay sharp and share your knowledge with others, we would like to invite you to join us.
How does Toastmasters work?
Becoming a member of Toastmasters means you have the opportunity to participate in projects that build your Communication and Leadership abilities. The programs are self paced and may be completed separately or concurrently, and projects build on one another helping members become more proficient while remaining challenging. Along the way you will benefit from supportive and constructive feedback from other members of your group. How much you choose to challenge yourself and how fast you progress through the programs are up to you.
What sets See You Speak apart from other Toastmaster Clubs?
See You Speak brings the University community of undergraduate and graduate students together with professionals from the broader Boulder area by partnering with the affiliated student organization CU Speak. Our on campus location makes us a natural choice for students, staff and faculty of the university as well as providing a central location for our other members. Many of our past and current members speak English as a second language and we enjoy and encourage international members. Meeting on campus gives us the opportunity to practice our public speaking in different spaces, and we will occasionally meet in a larger or smaller space to expand our stage presence abilities.
